It takes only a few steps to junk your old cable TV connection and get a DTH connection. We guide you through the process.

Buying a new DTH connection for the home makes complete sense, considering that you have an excellent LED flat screen TV occupying pride of place in your living room. You have struggled for long with a cable TV connection and all the problems that come with it – grainy and dull pictures, poor audio quality, certain channels suddenly going off the air, etc. So now you wish to buy a good DTH connection for your home.

This is how you can buy the new DTH connection in just a few steps:

1 Study the pack being offered. Since you are going with a new DTH provider, it is better to take a base pack to test out the channel pack and overall quality of transmission and service. After a while, you can take another pack if you want to view more channels or modify the existing pack. Leading DTH provider Airtel offers different base packs for different Indian cities, so be sure to check for your city before you initiate the purchase. The base pack for Airtel is normally priced at Rs 292 and includes both SD and HD channels, with an HD setup box.

2 Initiate the purchase. Once you are certain that you have found the best DTH provider and channel pack, you can order the pack. Airtel has an online ‘Buy now’ facility – enter your name and contact details as well as your circle (i.e. city of residence) and hit ‘Continue’. Once these details are entered and sent to Airtel, the company will contact you in just a few hours to take the request further.

3 Complete the checkout. Now, you must make the payment as directed by the service provider. You can do this on the provider’s website, or you can use a payment link that the company forwards to you. Mention your address correctly, mentioning PIN code, city and email ID.

4 Pay for the connection.Once the details mentioned in the above step are logged in, you are directed to finish paying for the DTH connection. Airtel offers three options: Airtel Payments Bank, debit/credit card, or net banking. Choose the most convenient option to complete the purchase. The payment is transferred to Airtel in real time, and you receive an acknowledgement.

5 Finish the installation. Airtel now sends its technician over to your residence to install the DTH connection. The equipment involves a dish, setup box, and a universal remote to operate both TV and the setup box. The installation is done as quickly and unobtrusively as possible, in just some time. The technician then hooks up your TV set to the new DTH connection and shows you how to use the overall setup. You are also presented with a bill for purchasing the hardware for the connection.

If you have any questions after the installation, you can call Airtel customer care with your queries or complaints. That’s it – you can now start using the DTH connection.
